Thank you for considering one of my country raised AKK pups.

You can help me to get to know you by filling out and sending my prospective owner’s Questionnaire. This is an important part in adopting an Alaskan Klee Kai. As a breeder of these precious 'little Huskies', it is important to me that you get the puppy you want as well as one that will fit into your loving family... We will temperament test all our puppies before they go to their new homes. You will know your puppy's strengths and weaknesses as well as his/her "expected" conformation to breed standards.  Please realize that not all puppies will be a good fit for each prospective buyer. I ask that you respect my efforts in placing only the puppy that fits your family based on my observations, testing and knowledge. 

And now, a little about availability of puppies: Lately, most requests are for a blue eyed black and white AKK pup. These few pups are almost as rare as the red and white pups these days, simply because they are so desirable and in such demand.  Another thing to keep in mind is that if you get an offer of an AKK, be prepared to "grab it".  As a breeder with many people wanting puppies,  please know that we need to move on to the next person as soon as possible, and therefor cannot wait on you once a puppy is offered. Be sure you are ready to accept your AKK anytime one becomes available, as you may have a long wait for the second offer. (This is the reality of it all, I am trying to impress upon you how to best achieve your goal of your very own AKK in the swiftest way possible).

Not every breed fits the owner's lifestyle or personality. Although the Alaskan Klee Kai looks like a Husky, it's temperament can be decidedly different.

The Alaskan Klee Kai is an agile and intelligent dog, also can be a digger,
 runner, climber and jumper---ie; major escape artist!
(this is extremely important with this breed! Example: we have a regular
fence, a wire fence AND an electric fence, and we still will have an
escapee from time to time)

This little dog can escape through very small spaces. Sometimes the AKK might try to escape to a bit of freedom (the Husky part) if the door is left open or even when you might be leaving the house. Obedience School may help to overcome this problem.

Socialization is an EXTREMELY important factor in raising an AKK puppy. As a breed, there is a tendency toward shyness with strangers so the more intimate contact the puppy has with people and dogs outside the household, the better. This type of training has to be continuous as the puppy grows into adulthood.

As a breeder of AKK, I am very careful and do my part to maintain the quality of my puppies and the breed. You must understand that the Alaskan Klee Kai is a new and rare breed which is still being monitored. I would ask that you report to me any genetic defects, health problems, or temperament problems that may surface during the life of your AKK. This way we can work together for the good of the breed.
