BIMBS BISS GRAND CHAMPION PR Alaskai's Nikiski V AliAK
Nikki

**July, 2009 UPDATE!

After a terrific show career and giving back to the gene pool such beautiful puppies, we have retired our special Nikki. Nikki has gone to live with Lisa and Dan, as well as Honor, Eli and Nike! She will work with them making others smile in Therapy work.

(Nikki) came to us from Lori Hart, of  Lisaloke Kennels, who had Nikki for 4 months. Lori found out she was having twin humans,  and needed to place Nikki in a new Breed/Show home.  Nikki was born in Texas at Alaskai Kennels. She is a very loving and sweet young lady with the most incredible soft fur. She is a standard AKK, and she Championed in one weekend! Nikki weighs 20 lbs and is 15.5" tall, the "perfect " AKK! Nikki has proven herself to be a fabulous show dog, remaining in the Top Ten while producing 12 lovely AKK puppies in the year 2006. Quite an accomplishment for this special girl. And to top it off, Nikki has the friendliest temperament. She must meet every person who comes to visit , and freely shares kisses with them all.

CH Kodiakk's Kasheega V AliAK

Kashi

GR CH PR Shalimar's Karluk V AliAK
Luk

Luk was a joy to own. He was spunky, lively and funny! Luk fathered many gorgeous pups here at AliAK and he is now retired form breeding and enjoying the good life in Elgin, IL living with one of his sons!

Although we miss Luk terribly we know he is loved and has a wonderful home!

PR AliAK's Chena V Kiska Blue

Chena

Chena was born out of our own Kissy and Kipnuk. She was a very sparky sweet girl who came to live with us after being in Texas for several months. We bred her one time to Luk (she was a FVII carrier) and we have kept her little girl, Gennie, to carry on the wonderful genes of our early foundation female.

Chena now lives in Arizona with a wonderful family and is having a great time. We really miss her around here.

PR Alaskai's Willow

Willow

Willow (left)  came from Sandy Kay Neill's Alaskai's  kennel last fall. She is the mother to our wonderful Nikki. We are very happy to  have had her spend time with us here and to have the three generations of her family at one time here too!

Willow has found her forever home in Chicago, living with a family that includes her own grandson, "Jack" (AliAK's You Don't Know Jack).

CH PR Kodiakk's Kiska Blue V AliAK

Kissy

What can I say about Kissy? She is the love of our lives,  and she is the "Matriarch" of our kennel. Kissy commands respect from each and every dog here at AliAK, even the Siberians. Kissy was our second AKK ever, right after Kodi, so she has her forever home right here with us. Kissy blessed us with two litters before being spayed in emergency surgery for advanced Pyometra.

She was one of our first dogs tested and found to be affected with FVII, though she never exhibited any symptoms of the disease and still doesn't.

Kissy helps the other Moms here by playing and disciplining their puppies. There is nothing Kissy loves better that to play with a litter of puppies. She is an assett to our kennel and will never lose her place as our foundation female. Hugs and Kisses to Kathy Burnett of Kodiakk's Kennel for this little lady.

CH PR ALiAK's Naughty Lace Skyline
Lacey

Lacey was one of Kissy's first two babies and had lived in two homes before she returned to us in June, 2006.

Lacey was also found to be affected with FVII, and I brought her back here as a result. She had just one litter here. All her carrier pups went to pet homes.

Lacey now lives in MA. with her forever family and loves them dearly.

CH WACO-Ebonorth's Kobuk V ALiAK
Kobuk

Kobuk, or Bukky, was our second boy ever, and our first stud dog at AliAK. He was a breath taking boy, so stunning, a standard AKK. He moved like the wind and was a full brother to our Keno. Kobuk was from Carroll Parkison, one of my mentors who has passed away. Kobuk will always hold a special spot in my heart.

Kobuk ended up outgrowing the standard for size. He was over 18" and 30 lbs when full grown. For that reason, I had Kobuk neutered and he is living out his days at the "AKK retreat"--(hahaha)!, better known as Vickie's house in Madison WI.
* update: Bukky is now living in CA with Vickie's daughter and Bukky's best friend in the whole world.

**  update:Sad news, Bukky was tragically killed by a car in May/09. Rest peacefully, Bukky
you are missed

PR WACO's Tatiana V Aliana
Tia

Tia was one of the most personable dogs I have had the pleasure to share my life with! She came to me upon the death of my dear friend and mentor, Carroll Parkison. Tia produced some of our best puppies EVER at AliAK! She was a quirky funny girl who loved nothing more than being right next to me at all times.

Just before Tia's last litter was born, a lovely person contacted me looking for an AKK to replace her AKK, Aliana, who had passed away from cancer. She had gotten Aliana from Carroll several years before, and her remaining male AKK was suffering from such loneliness since Aliana had passed away. Did I possibly have an AKK to help him to become happy again?

Well, imagine my joy when I realized that Tia would not only be perfect for this person's family, but Tia was Aliana's DAUGHTER!

We imagined this was a sign that Carroll was still watching over her wonderful babies from above!

Tia now resides happily with Pam and A.C., and their AKK, Denali, in both Idaho and Alaska.

Tia left me with such fond memories and did a wonderful job of contributing her exquisite genes to the AKK genepool. She is missed greatly here.

WACO's Kaligortarpok V AliAK
Kali

Kali was another sweet little lady who came to me after being in a few other homes. She was  also out of Carroll's kennel. She was a gorgeous "blonde" with the most beautiful brown eyes. At times she reminded me of a tiny deer. Her tail had the most awesome "plume". She loved belly rubs and will still flop over on her back at the mere mention of one!

Kali had trouble whelping puppies and I didn't feel it was fair to breed her and subject her to c-section deliveries any longer. I had her spayed after her second litter, and she is living happily ever efter at the AKK retreat at Vickie's house  with her son Butterball, and cousins Kobuk and Zita.

CH WACO's Pungattok V Illatuyok
Punkie

Punkie came here with Tia from Carroll's kennel. She was so beautiful and a very sweet  little female. She was Carroll's first ever UKC Champion, so quite a special girl for us to behold!

Punkie also had trouble whelping, and after two c-sections (one with Carroll, and one while here) I again decided it was not fair to subject her to a breeding life of surgeries. I found a wonderful home for Punkie with a Navy family in Norfolk, VA.  Punkie is their one and only girl and enjoys her special place in her forever home there.

CH PR Lisaloke's Knik Punkin V AliAK
Punkin

Punkin was a delightful, sweet small girl who came to us from Lori Hart's kennel in 2004. She was very small and quiet and just loved being on my lap, and kissing me to wake up. Punkin had great trouble having babies. She lost a whole litter in the Summer of 2006 just one week before they were due. She was very sad when that happened.

She was able to have one last little boy pup in December 2006, though she had a c-section and lost her other male puppy in labor. As a result, I felt enough was enough, so I had Dr Randall spay Punkin after her c-section, so she would no longer have to go through this difficult process.

Punkin has gone to be the "special girl" she deserves to be with her new Mom in Redlands, CA.

GR CH PR Shalimar's My Sweet Marissa
Marissa

Marissa is a sweet, little girl who melted my heart. Marissa started her life in Kenny and Gail Comptom's RV outside of the hospital where Gail was being treated for a serious heart condition. Unfortunately, Marissa's time with Gail was cut short by her untimely death.

Marissa moved on to live with Carroll Parkison and again, lost her human Mom to another untimely death.

Marissa went briefly to another person in WA, but was not fitting into the pack there, and that is when I decided to bring Mariss here. She was a wonderful girl here, she got along beautifully with all the AliAK dogs, and gave us beautiful puppies and so much enjoyment. Marissa loved to talk to me constantly, and loved to be near me, though never really liked me to reach for her or corner her. I worked around this with her and she melted my heart.

Marissa had to be spayed in emergency surgery for advance Pyometra.

She is happily residing with her wonderful new Daddy in California enjoying sunny days!

GR CH PR AliAK's Ain't No Mountin Hi ENUF
"Eli"
Eli

Eli is remarkably sweet natured,  and loves everyone!

He takes after his mother, Kiki, and his grandpa, Kipnuk.

We were sad to learn that Eli's littermate had been diagnosed with bi-lateral luxating patellas.

In keeping with AliAK's standard of only breeding the healthiest, happiest AKK, we sadly had Eli neutered, since there is a chance he could pass this disorder on to future generations of AKK.

Eli now lives in Illinois with one of our pups named "Honor"! Honor is the first AKK in history to obtain her rally obedience title!

Factor VII Carrier

Grand Champion PR Wiebelhusky's Kipnuk Blue V. AliAK
(Kipnuk is now a Certified Therapy Dog! Much thanks to Shari Hebert for her work with him!)
Kipnuk Kipnuk (in picture on the right) is from The Wiebelhaus's in North Dakota. Kipnuk is related to our first AKK, Kodi, and our pet female, Kiana! Kippy became a UKC Champion in August 2005! He soon obtained his GRCH in 2006. Kippy is a standard AKK with excellent bone, chest and type. His temperament is to die for. Kipnuk loves everyone! He is pictured here with his boy, Savoo. Kippy is our first Therapy Dog. He loves to make people smile. Unfortuantely, Kippy developed autoimmune thyroiditus at age 4, and was retired from breeding. He is asymptomatic, (meaning he shows no signs of the disease), and continues making people smile as a Therapy dog!
